The Good, the Bad, and the Undecided...

OK - I must confess. I'm the teeniest bit green-eyed over Ophelia's fabulous vacation at (wait for it) Camp Knitty Ha-Ha. Oh wellllll, I'll get over it. Maybe another year. :-(

Good news on another front. The Ministry has decided to transfer me to their Atlantic-based offices...mid-Atlantic, that is. ;-) I'll still be working for the same department, but beautiful beaches, sunny skies, and surprisingly temperate weather await me. Never fear - I won't be transferring until after the term is completed.

Exciting Travels

Housemates -

Have I got exciting news! I was able to secure lodgings in the muggle city of Atlanta. I even rode one of those devices called an "airplane"! Quite interesting, but, honestly, give me a broom any day! I'll admit, this airplane is cleaner than your average trip through the floo network, but it takes so much more time - and the view isn't nearly as good as the view from a broom. (Of course, the extra time meant that I was able to work on my spoilee's bag - I'm nearly finished!)

At any rate, I'm visiting Atlanta so I can see the exhibit at the High Museum. Although most muggles will only be seeing the Terracotta Warriors, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for any other creatures. ;-) Who knows what managed to sneak in the exhibit without being seen?

Visit

The cleaning wizards are working around the clock. I keep tripping over enchanted brooms and feather dusters. No - it's not spring cleaning (yet). Mother is coming to visit this weekend! I've nearly finished all of my schoolwork also, although the Professors really hit me with a lot of work this week...especially Charms and History of Magic! Of course, it would help if I could stay awake in History of Magic, but who has any luck with that!

From Snow Day to Beach Day...all in one week!

Well, the title about says it all. The week started off with snow and ended with beautiful, clear, 65 deg weather. Unfortunately, I didn't get to stay home and enjoy any of it. The Ministry continues to be quite busy and my new job is keeping me hopping.

But at least I've found time to start on my spoilee's bag! If I'm lucky, I'll get a good chunk of it done this weekend. I really wish I was a fast knitter like Ophelia. But I guess it just takes a bunch of practice.

I found this neat HP quiz. I didn't do very well though - I only got 15. :-(

Sssslytherin House Quiz #3

It’s so pedestrian to admit that I’ve cheated, but this week has been absolutely crazy. My office at the Ministry is reorganizing, so I’m starting in a new position. Many, many thanks to all of my fellow Slytherins for the assist!

They were both on a mission to destroy Voldemort's Horcuxes. Harry and Hermioen realized while in Regulus' room that Regulus Arturus Black may be the mysterious R.A.B. who signed his name in the false locket that Harry and Dumbledore recovered from the cave. The summon Kreacher who tells the tale of how Regulus had a change of heart regarding Voldemort and how Regulus made Kreacher take him back to the cave where Regulus drank the potion, stole the locket, and replaced it with the false one. He then ordered Kreacher to return home and destroy the locket.

2. On three occasions former professors can be presumed to have "visited" the trio while they are in "exile" - which professors and which occasions would these be?

The blonde-haired boy is actually Grindelwald, the last known master of the death stick. He stole the Elder Wand from Gregorovitch the Bulgarian wandmaker.

It is one of the Principal Exceptions to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. Food may be multiplied once a real food object is actually in hand, but cannot be created from nothing.

Crabbe

9. Which Horcruxes has Harry actually seen in person before the book starts?

Extra credit:
Tom Riddle's grandfather inherited the stone of resurrection. Harry's father inherited the invisibility cloak. What does this imply about Tom Riddle and Harry Potter?
That they were related. The Resurrection Stone was first owned by Cadmus Peverell and the Invisibility Cloak was first owned by Ignotus Peverell. Since the two items were passed down thru the families for generations, it can be safely implied that Tom Riddle and Harry Potter are relatives.
